Apps That Help You Work from Home
We’ve all been working at home for weeks now. WEEKS! We’ve mastered Zoom conference calls, now how to look professional while still wearing jammie pants, and are practicing empathy on a daily basis. We’re slowly, and begrudgingly, getting used to this “new normal.”
But, work is still happening. There’s still much to do, and the emails never stop. Beyond, Zoom, there are a few really great apps that will help you manage your time, organize your life, and stay in contact with humans while we’re working from home.
Here are 5 great apps to help you work from home:
Google Apps for Work
The beauty of using the Google Suite is that everything is managed in one platform, and that platform plays nice with others. There are many Google apps to help organize your time and business. Google Drive, Docs, Slides, and Sheets are all helpful apps to write and present from. They are all free to use and a wealth of storage. Google Calendar is an easy calendar to stay on top of your meetings, events, and appointments. You can also share these appointments with your team or family. It’s worth $6/user per month.
Slack
Slack is like AOL Instant Messenger on steroids. All of your communication and files are accessible from one platform. You can collaborate on projects, make video calls, and upload files directly to Slack. Depending on how big your company is pricing can range from free to $12.50 a month. But seriously, you can do a lot with the free version.
Trello
Trello is a great way to show your team exactly what tasks need to be done, worked on, or started. Ultimately, it is an online cork board. You can organize each card to different lists and drag-and-drop them closer to the finish line as you accomplish them. Trello has many features, like file storage, due dates, and tagging for other teammates. If you like to visualize your task’s status in the process, this app is for you. (And there’s a free version!)
Google Analytics
If you want to know anything and everything about your website, Google Analytics has the answers. This platform is an analytics service that tracks your audience in great detail so that you can understand how users use your site. This platform is completely free and is the perfect solution to track your website’s visitors.
Toggl
For only $9/month, Toggl helps you track how much time you spend on each project for each client. A time-tracking app like this, makes it easier to check how time you actually spend on each project so you can give accurate quotes, manage your time better, and show an updated timeline of your work.
